National workshop to set up the alliance of civil society organizations on SSR in Mali
The objective was to facilitate the networking of civil society actors that will make it possible to carry out more effective lobbying and advocacy actions for better participation and consideration in the SSR process in Mali.
The implementation of the said alliance of civil society organizations on SSR was made based on the SC position paper on Security Sector Reform in Mali obtained thanks to the results of the various regional foras and the Gender and Youth workshops in Gao.
After two days of intense workshop, an alliance called “Alliance Citoyenne pour la Réforme du Secteur de la Sécurité (AC-RSS) was born with the overall objective of: Promoting the participation of the SC in the G/RSS process in Mali. The priorities of the alliance as well as courses of action to be undertaken in the short, medium, and long term were discussed and shared by all participants.
Following this, a steering committee composed of a dozen members was set up to work on the form and contours of the alliance.
This workshop was organized within the framework of the regional project "Security for All" co-funded by the European Union in partnership with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and aims to strengthen/support security sector reforms by involving civil society and women and young people. in the process.
